Patna: Civil courts in Purnia, Kishanganj, Katihar and Hajipur received bomb threats via email on Monday, triggering heightened security. Police evacuated the premises, cordoned off the areas and conducted intensive searches using dog squads and bomb disposal units.
Courtrooms, record rooms, parking areas and nearby shops were thoroughly checked, but no suspicious objects were found, and the threats were later declared a hoax.
However, separate FIRs were filed in the four districts in this connection.
In Purnia, SP Sweety Sahrawat led inspections across the campus. SDPO (Sadar-1) Jyoti Shankar said, “The threat message was sent to the official email of the court late at night.” Security has since been tightened.
