Body of Nalanda missing youth found buried in field
Patna: Body of a 19-year-old youth stuffed in a sack was found buried in a field near his house in Nalanda district on Monday.
He was missing since Sunday, and his cellphone was found switched off. The police found his body with a slit throat.
The incident occurred near Tharthari market in the same police station area. The deceased was identified as Anshu Kumar, son of Vineet Prasad, a resident of Raipur Koyal Bigha Bund in Tharthari area. After passing Class X, he took admission in Intermediate, but failed once.
His uncle Murari Prasad said, “Anshu left home at 3pm on Sunday afternoon. His cellphone was found switched off around 4pm. When Anshu did not return home by 5pm, the family members became worried. After this, a call was made to ‘Dial 112’. Police reached his house and, after collecting information about him, they also took his photograph to search him.”
On Monday morning, the family members again reached the police station and inquired about Anshu. About an hour later, police received information that a sack with bloodstains was found in a field behind the house of Dukhi Kevat, a resident of Tharthari market. The police team reached the spot with the family, and when they opened the sack, Anshu’s body was found inside. His throat was slit. Anshu was the eldest among two brothers and two sisters. His father is a farmer.
Hilsa SDPO-I Shailja said, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the youth was killed by slitting his throat, as marks were found on his body. The FSL and dog squad teams visited the site and collected samples. The reason behind the murder is not known yet and the killers have not been identified. We are waiting for a written application from the family members for further investigation.”
