BJP will prefer Mangal Pandey for Bihar CM post: Tejashwi Yadav

PATNA: RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Monday claimed that given the choice, the BJP will make former BJP state president and health minister Mangal Pandey the chief minister when the time comes.

It may be a mind game to create confusion in the NDA ahead of the assembly elections due this year, but Tejashwi claimed he has come to know about it from reliable sources that BJP plans to put Pandey forward. He called it a "leaked plan" of the NDA and said that Samrat and Sinha are just being deceived.

Talking to reporters here, Tejashwi claimed Pandey, a disciple of former deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi, will be the BJP chief ministerial candidate, not Samrat or Sinha.

"Deputy CMs—Samrat and Sinha—are under the illusion that the BJP will make them the CM," he said.

The BJP has declared that the NDA will contest the coming assembly election and form the next govt under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar.
