Patna: Union minister Giriraj Singh on Tuesday said
JNU has become the centre of “anti-India ‘tukre-tukre’ gang” of Congress, RJD or TMC.
He was reacting to the slogans raised on the JNU campus against PM Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah Monday evening after the Supreme Court rejected the bail pleas of student activists Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam in Delhi riots case.

A purported video of the students’ protest Monday evening went viral in which slogans could be heard like “Modi-Shah ki kabr khudegi JNU ki dharti par”. JNU Students’ Union president Aditi Mishra, however, said students protest every year on Jan 5 to condemn the violence on JNU campus that day in 2020.
But the firebrand
BJP leader said, “Some people have made JNU an office of ‘tukde-tukde’ gang. People with anti-national mindsets like Rahul Gandhi, whether they belong to the RJD, TMC, or the Left parties, don’t believe in the Supreme Court. Such people should be tried for treason for raising slogans in favour of Khalid Anwar and Sharjeel Imam and against PM Modi, Amit Shah. India will not tolerate people who have a Pakistan mentality and talk about cutting off the ‘Chicken Neck’. They shouldn’t forget that this is Narendra Modi’s India of the 21st century. Even Swami Vivekananda said that saffron will prevail.”
Giriraj further said, “I want to tell the ‘tukde-tukde gang’ that those who support people like Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam, who harboured pro-Pakistan sentiments and talked about separating the ‘Chicken Neck’ corridor, are traitors,” the Union minister said.
BJP alliance partner JD(U) also criticized the protests on the JNU campus. JD(U) national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad said no kind of anarchy can be accepted in this country. “Controversial slogans were raised during the protest. The Supreme Court has given its verdict, which is binding on all parties. Therefore, everyone should condemn the kind of protest that took place. Undoubtedly, such activities are completely unacceptable,” he said.
BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain also slammed the opposition and said anti-national forces in JNU were insulting the country. “Action should be taken against those who raised slogans against Modi ji and Amit Shah ji. The way slogans were raised shows that these people are urban Naxals in the garb of students,” he said.
