While penning the song for Rajendra Kumar to woo his onscreen love Vyjayanthimala, Hasrat Jaipuri would not have even dreamt that the romantic-genre song would be parodied five decades later to express the popular wrath against the powerful.
"Oo Lalu, phool ki mehndi laga een bhure baalon mein, utar aaya hai jungle raj dekho phir khayalon mein...," it says and cautions CM Nitish Babu (whose government's USP has been the rule of law in Bihar) to "mend his ways".
