PATNA: Bihar minister for Transport Ramanand Prasad Singh on Saturday resigned after disclosure of his being chargesheeted in a corruption case.
Singh went to the official residence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and submitted his resignation, a senior official at the CM's house confirmed.
Chief Minister forwarded his resignation to Governor R S Gavai, who accepted it, he said.

Singh was chargesheeted by the state Vigilance Bureau on May 24, 1990 in a case accusing him of being involved in the purchase of a pipe of inferior quality when he was posted as Fuel Technologist at Kanti Thermal Power Station in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, before switching over to politics.
Vigilance sources confirmed that its officials had raided Singh's official quarter at Kanti Thermal Power Station and seized jewellery worth thousands of rupees.
After the raid, the state Vigilance Bureau submitted a chargesheet against him in a special court here on December 11 1991.
