Bihar: Hospitals asked to ensure proper treatment of dengue patients

BHAGALPUR: A health department team led by additional director (health), Dr Ashok Kumar Sinha, inspected the dengue ward and the high dependency unit (HDU) at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JLNMCH) here on Saturday, and instructed health officials and hospital superintendent to provide round-the-clock healthcare services to the dengue patients. The team also inspected the sadar hospital and the 100-bed pre-fabricated dengue unit there, besides some primary health centers in the district.

With 20 more people testing positive in the last 24 hours, the total number of dengue patients in Bhagalpur increased to 176 on Saturday. Dr Sinha instructed health staff to intensify pathological tests of the patients with dengue like symptoms.
