Bihar governor gives assent to prohibition Bill 2016

PATNA: Bihar governor Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday has given nod for the much-awaited Bihar excise and Prohibition Bill, 2016, which will pave way for the speedy implementation of the stringent law against the violators.

According to a press release issued from the Rajbhavan on Wednesday evening, the governor has given his nod after due consultation.

After unanimously passing the Bill in both the Houses of the state legislature in the recent concluded monsoon session, the government has sent to Rajbhavan for governor's assent.

According to official sources, the government will soon issue a gazette notification after formal clearance from the cabinet.
