talking to TOI said that there was no prior information to the state government about raids by CBI on Lalu and his associates from Centre.

“The state came to know only after the raids started at residence on Lalu on Friday morning,” said Mehrotra.

The CBI had conducted raids at 12 premises of Lalu and his associates in case related to alleged irregularities in allotment of hotels owned by railway through a tender floated by IRCTC, a company owned by railways, when Lalu was railway minister from 2004 to 2009. Te CBI has raided three places in Patna including residence of Lalu.
