Patna: Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday hit back at Jan Suraaj founder
Prashant Kishor (PK), asking him to verify facts before making political statements.
Responding to PK’s allegations, the senior BJP leader recalled how, following the 1995 gang war, RJD chief Lalu Prasad had imprisoned 22 members of his family, prompting the National Human Rights Commission to penalise the govt and secure a formal apology.
“Making baseless allegations against someone solely for popularity or to remain in the headlines is not good for democracy. I consider morality and truth to be the most powerful weapons in politics and am not afraid of false accusations,” Choudhary said.
PK had recently claimed that Choudhary’s original name was Samrat Kumar Maurya, alleged he faced criminal charges in a murder case and questioned the authenticity of his doctorate degree, saying that Choudhary’s affidavit to the court stated he had passed only Class VII.
