ARARIA: A man in Araria allegedly barged into a school with a sword and threatened teachers after he didn't get money for his child's school uniform.

The incident happened at Government Utkramit Middle School, Bhagwanpur under Jokihat police station on July 3.

The man, identified as Md Akbar reached the school with a sword before the head master Md Jahangir Alam for not providing his ward school uniform and other benefits. Akbar also threatened the teachers that if he doesn't get the money within 24 hours, he will come again.

Akbar claimed that he took this step because oral complaints failed to evoke any response. “My intention was not bad, I only wanted to make the headmaster to feel that he should act responsibly,” Akbar told this newspaper.

On the other hand, the headmaster Md Jahangir Alam alleged that Akbar used to demand extortion of Rs 50000 and he has lodged an FIR against the latter on the same charges.

The headmaster of the school, Jehangir, complained about the matter to Jokihat BDO.

An FIR has been registered against the man following it. Speaking to ANI about the incident, Jokihat Station House Officer (SHO) said, "The father reached his child's school with a sword and threatened teachers allegedly after he didn't get money for school uniform in Araria."

The incident took place when the classes were underway in the school. The video showing the sword in the hand of Akbar in school premises has gone viral in social media (this newspaper does not confirm the authenticity of the video).
