Watch: Bihar man walks into hospital with venomous Russell’s Viper that bit him
Villagers and family members said Prakash Mandal (48), a native of Meerachak village under Zero Mile police station, was returning home from the bank of the Ganga on Tuesday evening when a snake bit in his right hand.
Without wasting time, the man daringly caught hold of its neck and wrapped the snake around his neck before rushing to the nearby Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JLNMCH) for treatment.
Eye witnesses said on seeing the man with the deadly snake, doctors and nurses refused to provide him medical treatment, apprehending the reptile could slip out of his hand and harm them as well.
They asked him to first release the snake, but he refused, and continued holding it by its neck tightly. As his treatment got delayed, the man, writhing in pain, eventually lay on the floor of the hospital still holding the snake.
