Bhagalpur: The district administration on Thursday organised a send-off ceremony for 135 haj pilgrims, including elderly men and women, at Samiksha Bhawan in the district collectorate.
The programme included dua-e-majlis rituals, followed by training sessions and safety instructions for the haj yatra conducted by experienced instructors.
District magistrate Nawal Kishor Chaudhary extended his best wishes to the pilgrims and distributed travel kits containing essential items such as towels, attar bottles, sunglasses and other utilities to ensure a smooth journey. The DM also honoured the haj instructors with ceremonial garments and appreciation bouquets.
Social activist Syed Zeejah Hussain said such an event was organised for the first time by the Bhagalpur district administration, bringing immense goodwill and joy among the pilgrims.
