BEGUSARAI/PATNA: The body of a 25-year-old tractor driver was found buried in a sand mound in Begusarai mufassil police station area on Thursday morning, with the family crying foul.
Begusarai mufassil police station house officer Faisal Ahmad Ansari said as per the preliminary investigation, victim Avanish Kumar died as his tractor, in which he used to transport sand from the banks of Ganga river in Matihani and Naya Gaon areas at night, overturned.
"A case has registered by his family members, alleging that the man was killed by groups involved sand mining, and that his body was buried in sand to make it look like an accident.
Police will investigate it from all possible angles," he said, adding the autopsy of the body was done, which will reveal the reason of death.
Police sources said even he used to transport white sand illegally in the tractor owned by one Kundan of Chak village.
