PATNA: Although beauty parlours and criminals don’t normally go hand-in-hand, the link between the two is very much evident in Bihar. The identification of the body of a young woman recovered here recently as that of one Kajal has once again established the fact that there is link between underworld and beauty parlours. Kajal was also a casual employee of a parlour located on Fraser Road here.In fact, Kajal was employed in three beauty parlours here under pseudonym.
In one parlour she was known as Payal. Though her murder case is yet to be investigated, prima facie police suspect it to be handiwork of her paramour, Rajendra Yadav, who allegedly has criminal antecedents.
“Everything will become clear once Rajendra is taken into custody,” said a police officer. Another criminal, a known sharp-shooter of RJD MP Mohd Shahabuddin, was also in the eye of storm after he forcibly married a girl, Kanchan Mishra. Later it was found that Mishra, too, was picked from a beauty parlour. In Kajal’s case, her two sisters Vibha and Tuli who had identified her body, had reportedly informed the police that Kajal was very upset for a few days prior to her death as Rajendra — with whom she lived — was getting married to another girl. Police are now on the lookout for Rajendra who has been absconding ever since Kajal’s body was recovered from a locality here. A DSP-rank police officer told TOI that it was a known fact that hardened criminals here often visit massage parlours and in the process get in touch with girls working there. Later, they either take the girls for joyride or settle down with them, albeit for a short period.Interestingly, Kajal’s standard of living was much higher than what she earned by working in the beauty parlour. According to a source, while she drew a salary of Rs 3,000 per month from the beauty parlour, she stay in a house at Anandpuri locality for which she paid a rent of Rs 2,500 per month.
