patna: art of living founder sri sri ravishankar on tuesday advised the students to lay more stress on solving the problems than becoming a part of them. the problem-afflicted bihar needs reformation, and solving the problem is the only recourse, he said at a meeting attended by thousands of students at the gandhi maidan here. sri sri ravishankar again adopted the informal way of conveying his message of love, knowledge, karmayoga and service to the society.
the interactive question-answer session, interspersed with a flow of thoughts from the “guru�, was participated by majority of art of living practitioners. some of the students were critical of the organisers taking fees for the courses of the art of living. sri sri ravishankar had to calm down the students as he asked the police personnel and organisers to stay away from the people critical of the fees. he told the students that the membership for the art of living courses had increased only after realisation of fees. when the people spend money, they make the best use of the courses or facilities, he said. “if we give the nectar free, it will have no value in people’s mind,� he said, adding, moreover, the money realised from the fees is being utilised for running 15 schools, including tribal schools in bihar and jharkhand, and in organising health camps. he said that the nav chetna shivirs are being organised in villages. in the shivirs (camps), the people are given free training for the art of living, he added. he told the students to be conscious to do creative activities and avoid rushing for things. “we exhaust ourselves in breaking systems and not in creating new one,� he opined on the social trend. he said that one should feel strong about one’s religion. if one system is strong, it strengthens the other one as the religiously strong jews give strength to the usa with their sheer economic strength, he said asking the students to “feel great of their respective religions�. “but before feeling yourself religious, you must feel that you are a human being first. your religion should be such that it makes you and others smile,� he told them. at least 18 minutes of the session was devoted to sri sri ravishankar meditating with the students besides the breathing exercise, sudarshan kriya. he went on to narrate how to perform deep breathing exercise and meditation. “this brings smiles on your face and tones up your nervous system by removing the tension,� he told the students and asked them whether they actually experienced it. the majority of the people present there replied in affirmative.
