One of them shot at him from point blank range in his chest and the bullet pierced through his body and came out from the other side. They took away the bag which Munna was carrying. There was nothing precious in it except for the shop’s key,” said Vinod Kumar, president, Patliputra Saraffa Sangh, of which Munna was also a member. Munna hailed from Mahua in Vaishali district.
Patna SSP Jitender Rana told TOI that the case did not seem to be a very straight one. Police are investigating the incident. Pirbahore police station SHO Nisar Ahmad has assured the jewellers of fast investigation into the murder. Members of Patliputra Saraffa Sangh kept their shops closed in first half on Sunday. Vinod said, “It is only because of police’s assurance that we are not protesting, otherwise we will call for a massive protest in the city. We want justice and we will not remain quiet.” Ahmad said Munna died on the spot. Postmortem was performed at the PMCH.
