Aurangabad boy’s throat slit, body dumped in bushes

Aurangabad: An 11-year-old boy was brutally murdered by having his throat slit with a knife in an apparent case of personal enmity in Aurangabad district. The incident took place in Raja Gardi village under the Salaiya police station area of Madanpur block. The body of the minor was recovered on Tuesday morning from bushes along the bank of the Madar river. The deceased was identified as Suraj Kumar, a resident of Raja Gardi village.

According to SDPO-2 Chandan Kumar, Suraj had gone out to play on Monday evening but did not return home. After the family informed the police, a team reached the village and launched a search operation. During the course of the investigation, suspicion fell on a youth from the same village, who was taken into custody and subjected to sustained questioning.


During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to the crime. Acting on the disclosure, police recovered the boy’s body from bushes near the Madar river. Preliminary investigation revealed that the child was taken to a mustard field located east of the village, where his throat was slit with a knife. The body was later stuffed into a sack and dumped in the riverside bushes in an attempt to conceal the crime.

The body has been sent to Aurangabad Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination. Police have arrested one person in connection with the murder and further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact motive and circumstances leading to the crime.
