As of now, the district administration has focussed on Saheed Jagatpati park and the Gandhi Maidan which present a picture of utter neglect. District magistarte

Kanwal Tanuj

has directed the officials of the nagar parishad to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) to beautify these spots.

The area around Ramesh Chowk would be widened to ensure the beautification of Jagatpati park, which will get a complete facelift and majority of the space will be kept open with low plantings and beautiful flowers around groomed walkways.

The parks will also have jogging tracks where morning walkers can move freely.

There is also a proposal to have a joggers' track and construct a community hall at the Gandhi Maidan here.

Briefing mediapersons on Sunday the DM said, "We plan to spend Rs 90 lakh on beautification of the Saheed Jagatpati park and Gandhi Maidan. The officials concerned have been directed to float tenders after which work will start."
