However, crop/plant diseases can harm the entire crops and may lead to food scarcity, starvation and several related problems. to humanity, The AI-based e-Nirog app promises to play a vital role in crop/plant disease detection.
The app has been designed and developed for farmers by IIIT-B as per the BAU specifications under the climate-friendly farming plan to figure out a large number of problems in the field of agriculture, added Prof Choubey.
Elaborating on the e-Nirog app, Prof Choubey said farmers have to install the e-Nirog app on their mobile phones and get their details registered, followed by clicking photos from the mobile phone camera and then uploading details of the crop/plant and diseases/problems through the app for results. The disease of the crop/plant and its solutions will be instantly communicated on the farmers’ mobile phone through WhatsApp, added the IIIT-B director.
