Muzaffar Hussain had purchased the jeep from M/s Lawly Sen and on bouncing of the cheque the owner of the firm, S K Sabu, had filed a case of fraud against Taslimuddin in the district court.
Praying for anticipatory bail to Taslimuddin, the senior counsel Janardan Rai, submitted before the court that both Taslimuddin and the Lalwly Sen had compromised over the issue with Taslimuddin giving a bank draft of Rs 2.42 lakh to M/S Lawly Sen.
A compromise petition was submitted before the court by both the parties on November 10 and on the basis of which the court granted anticipatory bail to Taslimuddin on Thursday. The court ordered that Taslimuddin should furnish bail bond of the sureties of Rs 10,000.
Earlier, the court had issued the order of non-bailable warrant of arrest against Taslimuddin and also the order for attachment of his property when he did not appear before the court in the case of fraud filed against him by Lawly Sen.
Arguing the case, the defence counsel Rai submitted that Taslimuddin was ignorant of the court orders for non-bailable warrant of his arrest and attachment of his property. Rai added that Taslimuddin could know about this only when the news of the court''s issuing non-bailable warrant of arrest and attachment of his property was published in a section of the press.
