Another school child kidnapped in city

PATNA: Another school child was kidnapped in Patna within a span of 20 days. Swetangi Kumari, a seven-year old girl studying in the local DAV School, was kidnapped by Maruti-borne kidnappers on Friday at around 6.30 am.
According to eye witnesses, the girl had stepped out of her house at Road No 3, Rajbanshinagar and was waiting for her father, Santosh Kumar, when she was bundled into a waiting Maruti car at gun-point.
The kidnappers also assaulted her father, who is a businessman, when he tried to save her.
The incident sparked off protests in the area as residents blocked the Bailey Road by placing burning tyres. They also smashed the windows of some vehicles.
At the time of filing the report, senior police officials were trying to convince the crowd to clear the blockade.
Earlier on July 24, a school boy Siddhant Kumar, son of a bank official, was kidnapped from the same area. Police are yet to trace him out.
Ironically, the kidnapping of Swetangi has taken place on the same day when owners of private schools are taking took out a rally to demand the recovery of Siddhant.
