Another BDO’s salary withheld

ARA: Bhojpur DM Sanjay Kumar has ordered to withhold the salary of Charpokhari BDO Vivek Kumar and also issued showcause notice for his unauthorised absence from the office.
Official sources said that the DM had issued warnings to the officials to remain present at the headquarters but his orders have yet to yield any result. BDO Vivek Kumar was found absent from the block headquarters for three consecutive days.
Two women burnt: At least two women were burnt to death and three others, including two children of a Dalit family, were injured when a devastating fire broke out on Saturday night in their thatched house at village Majhupur under the Jagdishpur police station of Bhojpur district.
According to official sources, family members of Kishun Ram were fast asleep in their thatched house on Saturday. At around midnight, all of a sudden, a lighted earthen lamp fell down and the house caught fire. By the time the sleeping inmates could woke up and any help could reach them, five persons trapped inside were seriously injured.
Sources said that they were rushed to the sadar hospital here where Rajmuni Devi (30) and Punam Kumari (18) succumbed to burn injuries on Sunday morning.
