Amas-Darbhanga road work to resume soon
In a major breakthrough for the Amas-Darbhanga National Highway project, DM Shashank Shubhankar has effectively addressed existing land ownership conflicts. This resolution involved a 3-km segment that had previously hindered progress and ultimately allowed for fair compensation to 18 landowners.

Gaya: The long-pending issue of compensation for land acquired for the Amas-Darbhanga National Highway (NH-119D) has been resolved following the intervention of DM Shashank Shubhankar.Construction of a 3-km stretch in Amas block, adjacent to NH-2, under Bharatmala Pariyojana had been stalled for a long time. The land belonging to 18 owners from Kaj and Hasanpur mauzas had been recorded as govt property, preventing registration and delaying compensation.The DM initiated a hearing on the matter after the project’s execution was delayed. The highway project is expected to be completed by Dec this year.The 189-km four-lane expressway will connect Aurangabad, Gaya, Jehanabad, Patna, Vaishali, Samastipur and Darbhanga districts. The project aims to reduce travel time between north and south Bihar.After reviewing the case, the DM approved the registration of land belonging to the 18 owners, making them eligible for compensation. In his order, he directed the landowners to submit all relevant documents to the district land acquisition office so that the compensation process can begin within seven days.The beneficiaries include seven landowners from Kaj and one from Hasanpur mauza. The DM has also directed the district land acquisition officer to expedite the disbursement of compensation so that work on the pending stretch can begin soon.
