Alma mater honours topper Damians

PATNA: They strove hard to make their destiny and their school chose to give them a pat on their back for the success they got in the Class XII examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) this year.
These are the students of city's Notre Dame Academy who were felicitated by the school on Thursday. Apart from toppers of Science, Commerce and Arts streams, those who secured highest marks in different subjects were also felicitated.The stars of the day included school's Science topper Srishti, Commerce topper Niketa Harlalka and Arts topper Anamika. Megha, who secured an amazing 100 in English, and Namrata Jaiswal, who achieved the feat in Mathematics, were also honoured.
Others felicitated were Ankita Nayak, Sufia Dilnawaz, Annu Malhotra, Shilpi Agrawal, Vineeta Suman, Sheetal Gupta, Priyanshu Jaiswal, Nikita Kevin Natal, S Richa, Megha Jha, Sonali Verma and Swati Kiran.
Of the total 166 Damians who wrote the Class XII exam, 162 fetched the first division. The 90 percenters among them numbered 24.
The success story of Damians is not limited to the Boards only as many of them also cleared all-India competitive examinations for entrance to medical and engineering colleges. At least ten of the schoolgirls have secured position in the extended merit list of IIT-JEE and in the merit list of AIEEE.
The list of the successful students include Aafrin, Adya, Akrishta Sahay, Bhavna Srivastava, Jigyasha Kumari, Niharika, Saumya Sitesh Singh, Srishti Shubham, Tanisha Singh and Vartika Kiran.
The Damians who cleared medical entrance examinations this year are Ankita Mayank, Naaz Aafreen, Samreen Khanam, Shweta Shalini and Srishti.
