All-party meet held ahead of House session

Patna: Ahead of the budget session, Bihar Vidhan Parishad chairperson Awadhesh Narain Singh on Thursday held an all-party meeting to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the session. This will be the 212th session of the Upper House.Addressing the meeting, Singh urged leaders of all parties to extend meaningful cooperation for the efficient, peaceful, and successful conduct of the upcoming session.The meeting was attended by deputy chairman of the Bihar legislative council Rambachan Rai, parliamentary affairs department minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, deputy leader of the House Rajendra Prasad Gupta, chief whip of the ruling party Sanjay Kumar Singh alias Gandhiji, chief whip of the opposition Abdul Bari Siddiqui, deputy chief whip of the ruling party Janak Ram, members including Nawal Kishore Yadav and Shashi Yadav, and secretary of the Bihar legislative council Akhilesh Kumar Jha.The budget session of the Bihar legislative council and the Bihar legislative assembly will begin on Feb 2 with the joint address of the Governor, following which the Economic Survey will be tabled. The next day, the finance minister will present the budget. The session is scheduled to continue till Feb 27.
