SAMASTIPUR: Anti- Agnipath scheme protesters attacked Darbhanga-New Delhi Bihar Sampark Kranti Express on Samastipur-Muzaffarpur section in Bihar's Samastipur town on Friday morning. At least four coaches of the train were gutted.

According to sources, around 400 youth attacked the train and forced the passengers to flee for their lives.

Thereafter, protesters set four coaches on fire. The youths fled when the rail and police forces reached the spot. Fire brigade personnel later tried to extinguish the fire.

Another train was attacked at Mohiuddinnagar block as well. The agitating youth also attacked Samastipur railway station and Samastipur town and Muffasil police station.

The movement of traffic in many localities of Samastipur town was also badly affected due to the violent protests on the streets.

The agitating youth said they would continue their agitation till the Agnipath scheme is withdrawn.
