80 arrested in night-long raid

PATNA: In view of ensuing panchayat elections, the Patna police launched a massive night-long operation against the criminals in the entire district, leading to arrest of 80 of them, including 10 hardened ones.
said SSP Alok Kumar on Monday. He said that 130 police teams were engaged in the operation to carry out raids at over 300 hideouts under the jurisdiction of 70 police stations in the district.
The SSP said that the drive was launched against such criminals, who were evading arrest for the past several years. Most of them were evading arrest in connection with cases of murder, loot, rioting and dacoity, he said.
Kumar said that the 10 hardened criminals, who had unleashed a reign of terror, included Dabloo Mian alias Mohd Nazim, Deena Gope alias Deena Yadav, Raiji Dome and Billa Sahni. A pistol was recovered from Dome, he added.
Regarding other 70 criminals, the SSP said that they were also wanted in connection with cases of theft, loot and riot.
