PATNA: At least eight students were injured in a fight between two groups of students on the Patna University (PU) campus on Monday. The injured persons have lodged a complaint at Pirbihore police station.

The clash started over sitting in the library and the students thrashed each other chasing on the Ashok Raj Path.

“Raj Shivam, a second year student of political science in Patna College, was beaten up in the library of Patna University two days earlier by the students of Jackson hostel. The student filed a complaint at the police station against the other group. Shivam and his friends had demanded proper security arrangements at the university campus. But no action was taken by the university in the last two days,” said SHO of Pirbahore police station, Mohd Sabihul Haque.

The SHO said Shivam with his friends were going to meet the vice-chancellor of PU, Girish Kumar Chaudhary on Monday.
