7-year-old boy dies in Bhojpur road accident
In a heart-wrenching incident, seven-year-old Kishan Kumar lost his life after being struck by an unknown vehicle in Ara, Bhojpur. The heartbreaking tragedy incited local residents to protest, blocking the Ara-Patna road for two hours in a unified call for justice, demanding both compensation and more stringent speed regulations.
Ara: A seven-year-old boy died after being run over by an unidentified vehicle under the Town police station area of Ara in Bhojpur district on Monday morning. The deceased was identified as Kishan Kumar, son of Sonu Kumar, a resident of Dhanupra in Ara.Following the incident, a large number of locals gathered at the spot and blocked the Ara–Patna main road near Dhanupra, bringing vehicular movement to a halt for nearly two hours. The protesters burned tyres on the road and demanded adequate compensation for the bereaved family.

“My son was returning from the agricultural field around 10.30am. Suddenly, a four-wheeler coming from the Patna side took a wrong turn and crushed my child. Speed limits must be implemented strictly in the town area as many drivers indulge in rash driving,” said the victim’s father, echoing the demands of other protesters.Town police station SHO Devraj Rai, along with other police personnel, rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the agitated crowd. The protesters dispersed after a senior police officer assured strict action to curb rash driving.“An investigation is underway to identify the vehicle and the driver involved in the accident,” the SHO added.
