Patna SSP Jitender Rana said, “A group of tourists was in Bihar to visit Rajgir, Bodh Gaya, Nalanda and Vaishali. They had booked four buses to visit various tourist spots in the state. Each bus was carrying 40 tourists. One of the buses rammed into a truck. The injured foreigners and driver Munna were rushed to Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) for treatment. Seven tourists and Munna were admitted to the hospital while the rest were released after first aid by the NMCH doctors.”
Mukhlal Paswan, SHO of Didarganj police station, said the police found tyre marks in 50 yards on the four- lane highway. “It means the bus was in high speed, and when Munna tried to control it suddenly, the bus rammed into the left side of a truck moving ahead of it. Due to sudden braking, Munna and two passengers sitting in the front seat behind the driver got head injury. Most of the passenger were sleeping at that time,” he added.
The police parked the damaged bus near the Didarganj check-post. The travel guide was handed over the luggage of injured passengers, while their passports were kept with the police for security purpose. “We will hand over the passports to the foreigners soon. Arrangement will be made to help them reach their destination once they are discharged from the hospital,” said Rana.
