7 prisoners escape from court lock-up

BEGUSARAI: Seven undertrial prisoners escaped from the lock-up of a local court on Saturday. While six of them belonged to various police stations of the district, one belonged to another district. On February 19, seven hardcore criminals had escaped from the lock-up of the court.
The undertrial prisoners, who escaped on Saturday, were brought to the district and sessions court from the local jail.They broke the back wall of the lock-up and made good their escape.
They have been identified as Ashok Das, Ramsharan Mahto, Munna Choudhary, Naresh Paswan, Dilip Mahto and Santosh Sah. Ashok Das, who belongs to the Garhpura police station of the district, was awarded life sentence on Saturday.
Another escapee Ramsharan Mahto belongs to the Peoples War Group and was involved in extremist activities in several districts.
