44 CUSB pupilsget fellowship

Patna: As many as 44 students from different departments of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) were selected for the prestigious Gandhi Fellowship of Piramal Foundation.CUSB placement cell coordinator and public relations officer Mohd Mudassir Alam said the department of mass communications and media studies recorded the maximum placement of 14 students, followed by the department of social sciences (13 students). The remaining placement offers were awarded to the students of the departments of law and governance, teacher education, social work and development studies. The students selected for the fellowship would get a monthly stipend of Rs25,000 to Rs28,000 for two years. Under this fellowship, the scholars are required to visit the schools falling under the area of work and educate the children and their guardians about basic facts related to health and education, said Alam. Central University of South Bihar vice-chancellor K N Singh has congratulated the selected students and wished them all success in their future endeavours.

Two IIT-Kanpur professors selected for INSA fellowship

Professors Bushra Ateeq and Nitin Saxena from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K) have been selected for the prestigious Indian National Science Academy (INSA) fellowship. The fellowship recognizes their research in the fields of cancer and computer science, respectively. Prof. Ateeq has made significant contributions to cancer research and has received several accolades for her work. Prof. Saxena is known for his breakthrough in theoretical computer science. The INSA fellowship provides necessary support for scientists to further their research.

Educational society to sponsor 75 girl students

As part of its platinum jubilee celebration, the Bethany Educational Society in Mangaluru has decided to sponsor 75 girls from economically poor backgrounds who are pursuing professional courses such as nursing, BEd, ITI, KPT, and others. The society, run by the congregation of the sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany, has been empowering women nationally and internationally with 56 social service centers across India. The Bethany Educational Society has 135 institutions across India, benefiting over 81,000 students through a diverse range of educational offerings.
