3 held in Khagaria JD(U) activist murder case
Khagaria: A Special Investigation Team (SIT), constituted by Khagaria district police, nabbed three accused, including a woman, in connection with the murder of one Kaushal Singh, a JD(U) activist, from Medinagar village under Chautham police station in the district.
Kaushal, who was the cousin of Pannalal Singh, JD(U) MLA from Beldaur assembly segment of the district, was gunned down by some motorcycle-borne armed miscreants on NH-107 near Kaithi village on April 9. This incident occurred while he, along with his wife, was on their way to their native village on a bike.
Khagaria SP Rakesh Kumar said that acting on a tip-off, a police team headed by Sadar SDPO Mukul Ranjan, arrested Ashish Kumar, Rajkumari Devi alias Raziya, and Rajesh Das, who had taken shelter in a relative's house at Lakhisarai. All the accused were remanded to judicial custody on Wednesday, police said.
