PATNA: The police on Saturday arrested three youths, including one Mukesh Kumar, on the charge of teasing and slapping two young girls near Saguna Mor under Rupuspur police station.
Police said the incident took place when Soni (name changed), a resident of Priyadarshi Nagar, along with her friend had gone to draw cash from an ATM. While returning, three youths including Mukesh teased them.
When Soni’s friend resisted their attempt, the youths slapped her, police said and added the youths also slapped Soni and threatened her with dire consequences. Soni later lodged a written complaint with the Rupuspur police station against Mukesh and his two associates. SDPO (Danapur) Anil Kumar said the three youths had been arrested.
Man commits suicide: An insurance agent, Vimal Kant Kishore (35), committed suicide by hanging himself with the ceiling fan of his flat in an area falling under SK Puri police station. In another incident, a computer student, Mudassar Nazar (25), died under mysterious circumstances at Naya Tola under Phulwarisharif police station on Saturday.
Vimal Kant Kishore, a resident of Jagat Balram Apartment on Boring Road, committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan with a plastic rope. He was found hanging on Saturday afternoon by a neighbour. The deceased was earlier working with a private bank but later left the job and started working as an insurance agent.
On getting information, the local police reached the spot and found a suicide note which said, “I am going as I am fed up with my life.” Kishore committed suicide when his wife and daughter were not present in the house.
In another incident, a computer student, Mudassar Nazar (25), was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his rented house at Naya Tola under Phulwarisharif police station on Saturday evening. Police said that Mudassar’s father had come to Patna from Kishanganj on Thursday as his cell phone was switched off. “On finding the door of the room locked from outside, the father tried to break open the lock but the locals stopped him from doing so,” said a police officer. But when foul smell started emanating from the room, the locals informed the local police which broke open the door and found Mudassar lying on the bed.
A police officer said that Mudassar’s hands were tied while an electric wire was wrapped around his waist. He said that police recovered several love letters and photographs of some girls from the room. The police also recovered a diary in which Mudassar had mentioned that a girl’s family had chided him and used abusive language against him.
SDPO, Phulwarisharif, Rakesh Dubey, said the reason of Mudassar’s death would be ascertained only after police got the autopsy report.
