286 more people test positive for dengue in Bihar

PATNA: The number of dengue cases showed a declining trend in the state on Sunday with 286 people testing positive in 24 hours. On Saturday, the state had logged 322 dengue cases.

With this, the number of dengue cases in the state so far this year has increased to 8,745, according to a bulletin issued by the State Health Society. In Patna, 153 dengue cases were registered on Sunday.

Altogether 306 dengue patients were undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the state on Sunday, including 120 at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital in Bhagalpur alone.

At the four medical colleges of the state capital - All India Institute of Medical Sciences-Patna, Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna Medical College Hospital and Nalanda Medical College and Hospital - 23, 28, 35 and 21 dengue patients were undergoing treatment, respectively, on Sunday.
