PATNA: Sub-registrars Ahmed Hussain of Pakridayal in East Champaran and Pranav Shekhar of Babubarahi in Madhubani have been suspended with immediate effect for recording and making viral the videos of IAS officer K K Pathak's official meetings held through videoconferencing in the first week of February.
The videos showed additional chief secretary (excise, prohibition and registration) Pathak allegedly hurling abuses against the officers of his department and raving about people of the state for not following the traffic rules.
After the Bihar Administrative Service Association went up in arms against Pathak, the Patna HC asked the chief secretary to mediate. The notification issued by the registration department on Wednesday stated in the matter of videorecording of the departmental meeting and releasing it, clarification was sought from Hussain. It has also been stated Hussain used to attend videoconference from his Samanpura residence.
