2 detained with Rs 12 lakh cash in Patna
Patna: Police recovered Rs 12 lakh in cash during a routine vehicle-checking drive on JP Setu under Digha police station of Patna on Thursday. A scooter with a Gujarat registration number, ridden by a young man and a woman, was stopped, and a suitcase they were carrying was searched, leading to the recovery of the cash.

Both were detained, and the matter was immediately reported to the Income Tax department, which issued notices and initiated necessary action, said SDPO (Law and Order)-II Divyajyoti Jaiswal. She said the duo claimed the money was brought to Patna for office and household purposes. The young man had previously held a govt job and is currently involved in photography-related work. Further legal proceedings are underway.
