2 bootleggers held after video goes viral
GAYA: A video showing a gangster holding two revolvers in either hand in a firing mode went viral late on Friday evening. In a still photograph that also went viral, a woman is seen stuffing a polythene bag with pouches of country liquor. Both the video as well as the photograph were tracked to Bairagi locality of north
According to reports, some bootleggers enjoying the protection of local goons were engaged in liquor trade in violation of prohibition laws. Some locals objected to the illegal activity.
The customers included alcohol addicts from far-off areas. In order to terrorise the residents who objected to the liquor trade in the Delha police station area of the town, the gangsters brandished revolvers and threatened people.
Gaya’s officiating SSP Anil Kumar said the gangster in the video footage has been identified as Jitendra Chaudhary. Two people involved in the illicit sale of liquor, including a woman, have been arrested.
The arrested woman was identified as Lalmati Devi, Jitendra's mother-in-law. The weapons used by the gangster are yet to be recovered.
