One killed, two hurt during dacoity

PATNA: A daily wager was killed and a couple injured as they were attacked while they were asleep during a

dacoity

in Nawada village under the

Phulwarisharif

police station area in

Patna district

around 2am on Tuesday.

Phulwarisharif SDPO Ramakant Prasad said the deceased was identified as Ajay Vishwakarma (42). The injured were flower vendor Ajay Malakar (40) and his wife Gudiya Devi (35).

Vishwakarma was sleeping outside the Malakars’ house under construction, the SDPO said and added the couple’s three minor children were not harmed as they were sleeping in another room.

The injured were admitted to the PMCH, where their condition was stated to be stable. “UP-based ‘kachha baniyan’ gang committed the crime,” Prasad said and added the dacoits wearing only undergarments decamped with Rs 11,000 and four gold ornaments. Raids are on to nab them.
