Noida: The power department began replacing old 11kV feeders and isolators in Sector 122 on Thursday. An official stated that new cables will also be installed in areas where they are needed in the sector. Similar work was carried out in Sector 65, village Chithara, Katehera, and Palla in Dadri. Additionally, the department started repairing the cable box on the 33kV Salarpur line.
According to sub-divisional officer Aditya Prakash, all 11kV feeders from the 33/11 substation at Chithara in Dadri were shut down on Thursday to replace dilapidated cables under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).
"Replacing of 11kV feeders and isolators will benefit in better power supply in areas like Sector 122, highrises in 100x sectors and villages of Parthala, Sarfabad, Garhi Chaukhandi," said Shivam Tripathi PVVNL's executive engineer.
Officials said the pruning of trees is directed in different parts of the city to address outages due to cable snags. A drive to address issues related to faulty meters, bills, and cables also began in Pipli village under Jewar block.
"The cable replacement work undertaken will benefit areas like GT, railway roads, Tulsi Vihar, and others in Dadri," added Prakash.
Harish Bansal, the chief zonal engineer of the power department, said the replacement of 11kV feeders and isolators, along with the pruning of trees will benefit areas like TP Nagar, Behlolpur, and Sector 65. He added that it will relieve outages due to faults in cable lines and isolators.
"Apart from this, junior engineers and SDOs of each area will review ongoing works including those of the linemen. In case of emergency, a quick response team will also work in the area to deal with local faults and other situations," Bansal said.
