NOIDA: The Uttar Pradesh Police's Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) interrogated Seema Haider, a Pakistani citizen who unlawfully entered India in May and is currently residing with her Indian partner Sachin Meena in Greater Noida.

The development follows the arrest of a suspected agent affiliated with Pakistan's intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in Lucknow, who was accused of sharing crucial information about defense establishments with his handlers across the border.

The ATS's questioning of the Pakistani woman coincides with a situation where an obscure right-wing fringe group in Greater Noida has issued a threat of staging a protest if Haider, along with her four children who also entered India illegally, is not expelled from the country "within 72 hours."

A senior officer confirmed to PTI that Haider was being interrogated by the ATS on Monday and that local police were not involved in it.

Local police are separately investigating the case and are yet to file a chargesheet, the officer said.
