ATS officials said that they received concrete information from the interrogation of the accused and conducted a raid in Rohtas district in Bihar.

The two suspects arrested on Wednesday have been identified as Dhramveer Singh (36) and Sipahi Ram (37). They were arrested from Darigaon village under Rohtash district. The police said they have concrete evidence including phone call records of the two accused for their involvement in Maoist activities.

Anoop Singh, DSP ATS (Western UP) said that Dhramveer Singh has been involved in Maoist activities for several years. “Dhramveer had met Pawan Jha, an arrested Maoist suspect, on the wedding of his sister in Rohtash district. Dhramveer introduced Pawan Jha to other Maoist leaders and members,” said police. Dhramveer had promised to organise the gang in Bihar while Pawan would make a base in Noida.

Police said Dhramveer was actively involved in the Maoist activities in his region and had also joined some members in the network. He was also planning to visit Noida, however the ATS crackdown foiled his plan. Several criminal cases are registered against him police station in his hometown.

Sipahi Ram had also been involved in Maoist actives for several years. ATS sources said that Sipahi Ram knew Krishna Kumar for around 20 years. Sipahi Ram was given the responsibility of arranging explosives and weapons and to transport them to the gang member’s hideouts in NCR.
