Suspecting an affair, man kills wife & surrenders at police stn

Noida: A 55-year-old man walked into the Sector 20 police station on Friday afternoon and confessed to killing his wife with a hammer at their home in Sector 15. The man had suspected his wife was having an affair, police said. According to police, the couple's 19-year-old son called the emergency helpline number alleging that his mother had been murdered by his father. A team from the Phase 1 police station reached the spot and rushed Asma Khan (43) to the hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival. Around the same time, Nurullah Haider (55) walked into the Sector 20 police station and surrendered himself. At the time of the murder, Asma's son, her 12-year-old daughter, and her mother-in-law were also in the three-storey house. However, they did not hear the altercation that led to her death as they were all in other rooms. An FIR has been registered under BNS Section 101 (murder). tnn
