Six criminals arrested in Greater Noida

NOIDA: Police on Saturday night arrested six members of a gang who were planning to commit a robbery in Noida. The accused were arrested from Kulesra Hindon pool under Eco Tech Phase III police station in Greater Noida. The accused were identified as Sachin, Amit, Rahul Jogi, Rahul Sharma, Rukhsar and Gulfaam. Another accused Shahid, who was coordinating with the gang form Noida, is absconding.Police said Sachin and Amit are the mastermind of the gang.
Ajay Kumar Yadav, SHO Eco-Tech III, said that police received information from its sources that a gang was planning to commit a robbery in Noida. “A police team was deployed around the area to intercept the criminals. The accused arrived in a Honda City car. The police signaled them to stop for checking. The criminals accelerated and tried to flee from the spot,” he said. The police team chased the criminals and forced them to stop.
Police said that there were six persons in the car. “The accused failed to provide relevant documents of the vehicle to police. During interrogation they said that they had stolen the car from Greater Noida sector a few months ago,” he said. The police found two country-made revolvers, four sharp knives, five live cartridges from their possession.
The accused revealed that an accomplice Shahid had conducted a recce of a private company in Barolla. The firm dealt in manufacturing copper products. The accused had planned to loot the company truck loaded with copper on that night.
Based on the interrogation leads, the police raided their hideout and recovered two stolen bikes. The accused Shahid managed to escape.
Police said that the accused have confessed their involvement in several other criminal cases in Noida and Greater Noida. A case has registered a case against the accused in Eco-Tech police station. They will be produced before district and sessions court in Surajpur on Monday.
