Noida: Seven people, including a caretaker, who served alcohol illegally at a farmhouse party were arrested on Sunday night. The accused were arrested after the Noida excise department conducted a raid and found that the organiser at the farmhouse located in Sector 135 had not obtained the necessary occasional bar licence and was serving liquor made for sale only in Delhi.As per the excise department rules, an occasional bar licence, costing Rs 11,000, is mandatory to serve alcohol at parties in Noida and the liquor must be made for sale in Uttar Pradesh.During the raid, officials seized 36 cans of beer and four bottles of whiskey from a room near the farmhouse's swimming pool. Those arrested were identified as Ankit, 19, the caretaker of the farmhouse, Deepak Rawat, 24, a resident of Rohini in Delhi, and five individuals from Nagaland — Mangte Kam, 25, Mukta Thapa, 35, Agyak Kangyak, 28, Piter, 33, and Raju Thapa, 35.District excise officer Subodh Kumar said, "We conducted a raid at a farmhouse and apprehended the caretaker, who said that he had rented out the premises for a party to make easy money." The seized liquor is estimated to be worth Rs 10,000. "A case has been registered against them under Sections 60 and 63 of the Excise Act at Expressway police station. The accused were produced in court and sent to judicial custody," Kumar said.
