GREATER NOIDA: A group of residents of Galaxy North Avenue 2 society of Gaur City allegedly fought with animal feeders on Saturday night. Police have booked both parties in cross FIRs. The incident came to light after a video of a group manhandling a person surfaced on social media late on Saturday. It was posted by an activist, Anupriya, who alleged that she and her husband were manhandled after they objected to beating a stray.
Anupriya, also a resident of the society, alleged that a boy knocked her door and informed about the stray dog getting beaten up.

“I went there with my husband and asked the person to stop after telling him that I personally have gotten the stray dogs vaccinated but he did not listen and started blaming us for everything,” she said in her complaint, adding that the accused man also pulled her hair and manhandled her husband.
The woman then informed police and after a team reached the society, more residents gathered at the spot. The argument after this led to another scuffle between animal lovers and the residents in which even the police constable was seen getting pushed. The video of the entire incident went viral. Anupriya alleged that she had filed a similar complaint against the same people on October 4 but no action was taken.
Ankur Aggarwal, the additional DCP of the central zone said both parties reached the police station and demanded action against each other. “The residents complained that stray dogs attack them while dog feeders, despite being warned several times, bring more stray dogs inside the society which eventually becomes a risk for other residents,” he said.
