“Zakir Ali Safi, councillor from ward 95, alleged that several development projects in the ward have been stopped mid-way due to rampant corruption in the department. He also accused officials of purposefully misplacing important files. He says his ward is being neglected,” mayor Asha Sharma said.

Safi has accused that work related to beautification of PAC Chowk, construction of water harvesting facilities near Dudesharwar Nath temple and Markaz mosque, and laying of sewer line on Kaila Bhatta road, among others, are pending.

The mayor also sought data about the number of projects and amount of money spent on them during this financial year. A senior

official said the matter will be looked into.
