NOIDA: A video in circulation on social media purportedly shows red worms coming out of a washroom tap at the Mahagun Mirabella society in Noida.
The resident, who shot the video, alleged there was a problem with the pipeline. According to residents, only one family spotted the red worms, but the incident has alarmed the others.
Rimjhim, the resident who made the video in her flat, said, “On Saturday, I noticed the red worms while filling a container in my washroom. We shifted to this society recently, and the incident alarmed us.”
The resident contacted the builder. Rimjhim said the maintenance team had connected a pipeline different from the domestic one, but it soon resolved the issue.
“Though it took action immediately after our complaint, what if we hadn’t noticed this? It could have been worse,” said Rimjhim.
Another resident, Ashok Vardhan, said, “Our builder paid Ganga water connection charges for only 200 of the 488 flats. On Saturday, residents visited the builder's head office to discuss our problems, including water. The builder assured us of clearing the water dues soon."
The maintenance team said after getting information about the red worms, it took action immediately.
