GHAZIABAD: The
mastermind
of a
robbery case in which family members of a Nehru Nagar-based trader were robbed of
cash
and
jewellery
worth about Rs 54 lakh when they were returning home from Delhi was
arrested
on Thursday. The robbery occured late on the night of April 24, 2016 on GT Road near the Hindon Bridge when the trader, Vijay Garg (50), was returning from a wedding in Gurgaon along with his friend Dinesh Bansal, his nephew
Vivek and son Amit. The mastermind, Hassan (27) is a Class VII dropout and has criminal cases pending against him at the Sector 20 police station of Noida and Sahibabad police station.
“The loot was done by four bikers. Three of them had been arrested last year and a portion of valuables had been recovered from them. They confessed that Hassan was the mastermind. In order to save his own skin, Hassan had leaked information about his three accomplices. We nabbed him when he was preparing to commit another robbery,” said SP (city) Akash Tomar.
